At the age of 4 Olivia started dance and gymnastics training with her sister. When she was 5 she was enrolled in dance classes at The Joy of Dance, a Christian ballet studio in Battle Ground, Washington. Over the next 14 years Olivia continued most of her training at The Joy of Dance. During her freshman year of high school, Olivia came to realize that no matter what she did with her life she wanted to glorify God first and foremost. In 2011 Olivia attended Ballet Magnificat's Summer Dance Intensive to further her training and to see another perspective of how God uses His people's talents to further His kingdom. Olivia graduated from the Paradosi Ballet Company Trainee program in the Spring of 2015 and has now joined the touring company of Paradosi for the 2015/2016 season. She is looking forward to what the Lord is going to do in and through her in the upcoming year of ministry.
Richelle began dancing classical ballet at the age of five. Over the years she developed a love for all styles of dance including ballet, modern, jazz, flamenco, tap and character. She studied Vaganova technique at the Arizona School of Classical Ballet under Nadya Zubkov, Olga Tarasova and Radel Vazquez. Ricki discovered the power of dance as worship in middle school and felt an immediate pull into ballet ministry.
After High school, Ricki also felt a call to pursue sports medicine. She chose to trust the Lord’s timing for both of her dreams and enrolled at Grand Canyon University (GCU) where she graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Athletic Training and a minor in Dance Education. While in college, Ricki performed with the GCU Dance Team for three years developing a style in hip hop, pom and contemporary while competing nationally. She also participated in Dance Education courses under the instruction of Sonja Mitrovick, Leanne Schmidt, Susannah Keita, Sean Dahlberg and Jacque Genung-Koch, earning graduation with honors through the National Honors Society of Dance Arts (NHSDA). It was during this time that Ricki first began merging concepts from athletic training into dance education. She taught students of all ages at Arizona Sunrays and initiated a movement analysis tutoring program for college students at GCU. She currently holds a license in Athletic Training and a certification in Pilates Mat Instruction.
Ricki spent the 2014/2015 season as a company member of Terpsicore Dance Company in Phoenix, Arizona and is eager to become a part of Paradosi this year.
She believes this next year will be a testament to God’s determination, ability, and purpose in our lives. In addition to Paradosi, Ricki is blessed to work alongside many talented therapists at ATI Physical Therapy. The Lord has allowed her to pursue both a passion for ballet ministry and a passion for sports medicine.
