*Please be advised: Students who register in Ballet 1 or higher after March 1, 2017 will not be eligible to participate in the Spring Recital in June. Please keep in mind that a portion of class time will be dedicated to rehearsing for recital.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES OFFERED:

All classes are year-long and end with a recital showcase in late May/early June. Our children's classes are geared for dancers ages 2-16.

--BALLET--

Dance With Me (2-3 years)

Main Tacoma Campus: 30 minutes, $40/month

Orting Satellite Campus: 30 minutes : $35/month

Parents join their students in class as they are introduced to the joy of dance! Creativity and imagination is encouraged as students are taught basic ballet techniques and other fun dance steps!

Dress code: Periwinkle leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet/Tap Combo (3-5 years)

Tacoma Main Campus only: 45 minutes: $50/month

Creativity and imagination is encouraged as students are introduced to basic ballet and tap techniques. Learn the joy of dancing in a safe and fun environment!

Dress code: Light blue cap sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and hair in a bun.

Pre-Ballet (4-5 years)

Main Tacoma Campus: 45 minutes, $50/month

Orting and Gig Harbor Satellite Campus: 45 minutes, $45/month

Students are introduced to the joy of dance and how they can use their movement to glorify God. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations while basic principles of muscle development, musicality, coordination and motor skills are learned, as well as the use of space, shapes and personal creativity. Basic ballet etiquette and terminology is introduced, while the classroom atmosphere is fun and inviting.

Dress code: White cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 1/Ballet 1B (5-7 years) Main Tacoma Campus: 1 hour, $55/month

Orting and Gig Harbor Satellite Campus: 1 hour, $50/month

Students are introduced to the joy of dance and how they can use their movement to glorify God. Like Pre-Ballet, imagination continues to play an important role in the classroom. Barre work is introduced as well as correct body placement and principles of ballet technique and terminology. Classses will focus on building strength, flexibility, balance, grace and musicality.

Dress code: Pale pink cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 1A (6-9 years or teacher permission)

Satellite Campus Only: 1hour, $50/month

For advanced Ballet 1 students. Students continue to develop introductory skills. Students build upon skills introduced in Ballet 1B. Furthur ballet technique and terminology will be introduced. Classses will focus on building strength, flexibility, balance, grace and musicality.

Dress code: Pale pink cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 2 (8-9 years)

Main Tacoma Campus: 1hr and 15 minutes, $65/month

Orting Satellite Campus: 1 hr and 15 minutes, $55/month

Students in this level will begin to develop as dancers and continue their work on building strength, flexibility, grace and musicality. Solid ballet technique and terminology is further introduced.

Dress code: Blackberry cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 3 (10-12 years or teacher placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $110/month

Careful attention to student's individual physique will develop increased strength, flexibility, balance and musicality. Students will expand their vocabulary and continue to build a solid technique foundation. Enrolling in Pre-Pointe is recommended.

Ballet 3 dress code: Grey cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 4 (Teacher placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $110/month

(Ballet 4 is a faculty placement class. Students must be at least 10 years old with previous extensive ballet training to try out the class.)

Careful attention to student's individual physique will develop increased strength, flexibility, balance, grace & musicality. Students continue to expand and develop their vocabulary and solid technique foundation. Students are encoruaged to enroll in Pre Pointe as well.

Ballet 4 dress code: Rust cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 5 (Teacher Placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $150/month

(Ballet 5 is a faculty placement class. Students must be at least 10 years old with previous extensive ballet training to try out the class.)

Careful attention to student's individual physique will develop increased strength, flexibility, balance, grace and musicality. Students continue to expand and develop their vocabulary and solid technique foundation. Ballet 5 students are encouraged to enroll in Pointe 1 and/or Pointe 2 depending on teacher recommendation.

Dress code: Black cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Ballet 6 (Teacher Placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $200/month

Students continue to build their movement vocabulary and artistry, and work on developing strength, grace, and ease while dancing en pointe. Ballet 6 students are encouraged to enroll in Pointe 1 and/or Pointe 2 depending on teacher recommendation.

Dress code: Navy cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.

Pre Pointe/Pointe 1(Teacher Placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $50/month

Students will strengthen their feet and ankles, and learn the fundamentals of dancing en pointe. Pre-pointe students will gain strength for pointe by performing exercises on demi-pointe. Open to pointe 2 students as well.

Dress Code: Appropriate class leotartd, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes (as discussed with teacher), hair in a bun, theraband.

Pointe 2 (Teacher Placement)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $50/month

Students will continue to gain strength and coordination and will be challenged with increasingly difficult skills.

Dress Code: Appropriate class leotartd, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes (as discussed with teacher), hair in a bun, theraband.

--HIP HOP--

Hip Hop 1 (4-7years)

Main Tacoma: 1 hour, $55/month

Orting and Gig Harbor Satellite Campus: 45 minutes, $45/month

This high energy dance class is designed for boys and girls who want to learn the latest urban dance steps in an appropriate manner. This class also encourages freestyle dance elements to help dancers create their own individual style. Elements include proper conditioning and warm-up, as well as beginning dance steps and combinations.

Dress code: sweatpants, t-shirt and tennis shoes (no black soles)

Hip Hop 2 (8-9 years)

Main Tacoma Campus: 1 hour, $55/month

Contemporary (open to students enrolled in Ballet 3-6)

Main Tacoma Campus Only: $55/month

Contemporary is a blend of classical, modern, and jazz styles with a solid ballet foundation set to Christian music. Students will learn to improvise and choreograph their own movements in an encouraging environment.

Dress Code:

GIRLS: class leotard, black fitted leggings of your choice, Neoprene Modern/Lyrical Shoes, hair pulled back

BOYS: Fitted white t-shirt, solid black shorts or tight fitting pants, thin white socks, shoes (contact SSA for style number)

Expressive Sign (ages 10+)

Main Tacoma: 1 hour, $55/month

Orting Satellite Campus: 1 hour, $50/month

Expressive Sign is a combination of dance, drama, and American Sign Language (ASL), students will learn to use their facial expressions and body language to express their worship while using sign to show the music they are dancing to. The class will focus on the basics of ASL, acting, and visual worship.

Dress code: Girls and Boys- black long sleeve or t-shirt, black yoga pants/leggings, black socks

Pilates (teen/adult)

Main Tacoma Campus only: 1 hour, $48/month or $15/drop in

Pilates mat classes focus on developing core strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. Students learn to be aware of breathing patterns and spinal alignment while engaging the deep muscles of the core.

Dress Code: Girls and Boys- t-shirt or tank top of your choice, yoga pants/capris/leggings of your choice, yoga mat, theraband, and pilates ball

Conditionaing (teen)

Main Tacoma Campus only: 1 hour, $48/month or $15/drop in

Students will focus on exercises designed to improve balance, coordination, flexibility and stamina and reduce injury.

Dress Code: Girls and Boys- t-shirt or tank top of your choice, yoga pants/capris/leggings of your choice, yoga mat, theraband, and pilates ball

*Some classes may not run due to low enrollment. Classes must meet a minimum of 6 students in order to begin. Parents/students will be notified 24 hours prior if a class is canceled or postponed.
